I am hard to read: avoiding lies about me
Forgive me if I sound rude, but I am going to be very frank with you now.
I am fed up. Big time, with people who unfairly call me “genocidal,” “murderous,” “loves dictators,’ etc.
If you are dumb or just looking to throw shade, you might think that way. I am a lawyer. I use very precise language. People who are dumb see general patterns only. They don’t understand words. They are unable to see finer details.
I am hard to read. The reason is because I am trying to debunk conventional wisdom and challenge normal stereotypes. If you want to take mental shortcuts and fall back on gross generalizations about Stalinism, communism, and history, then don’t read me because you are going to fuck it up. And then you mislabel me, which is unfair.
Then there are bad people who hate communism and refuse to try. They rely on gross generalizations to paint me as a bad person. That is bad faith. Those people should be banned from Quora for BNBR violations if they continue to tell lies and attack someone, trying to get their content collapsed.
An example is Pol Pot.
I posted an article saying that Pol Pot’s regime did commit atrocities. I said I don’t endorse them. I said Pol Pot was an agriculturalist with a genocidal flair. The numbers supposedly killed by his regime were inflated by anti-communists for propaganda purposes. This does not mean I am saying he was a great guy. Or that I endorse him. But if you are a little dumb, you might think that.
Noam Chomsky didn’t endorse Pol Pot. He was saying the same as me. Also, the U.S. media only focused on Pol Pot and didn’t cover Suharto, who had the U.S. help him kill 500K+ communists. Chomsky was saying this shows the hypocrisy of the media.
Initially, Pol Pot’s crimes were not fully known. And Chomsky was initially concerned about the numbers attributed to him because it wasn’t clear. This was the right call.
So then we had morons claiming Chomsky loved Pol Pot and endorsed his killings. That is a level of bad faith mixed with dumb that is not cool.
So Alan G. posts a hit piece against me claiming I love Pol Pot and I endorse mass killing. Alan G. is trying to make me look bad. He has already tried to get me downvoted in a cynical manner, and is dishonest.
Other anti-communists have done the same.
Stalin
First, the there was a famine in Ukraine and the region. It was bad. But it was not deliberate. The “Holodomor” was a fake claim made by Goebbels to invoke Ukrainian nationalism ahead of the German invasion. So you cannot claim that Stalin did that. Nor can you claim, as Alan does, that I endorse “starving people to death.” I don’t.
The kulaks hid grain while people were starving. They killed Soviet families. They killed half the livestock needed for the next season of farming, hoping to create another famine out of spite. So Stalin shipped them to Siberia. The violent ones got killed. I endorse that. The kulaks deserved it. The violent ones shipped to Siberia deserved worse. You kill people with guns or try to do so, then you get shot. That’s how it works. That is basic logic.
Azov Nazis are holed up in Mariupol. We can gas them out or we can send dozens of Russian boys into the sausage grinder to die. Not going to happen.
So Alan then claims I endorse gassing civilians. That is a lie. I meant Azov Nazis in holes, only. That’s it. You must be precise or you misrepresent.
Zelensky is a Jew, not a Nazi. The Ukrainian government and its people are mostly not Nazis, although far right extremist groups do have a large influence in Ukraine. I am fed the fuck up with people misrepresenting me.
If you are confused by me, move on. But you have no right to tell lies about me.
I do not believe in genocide. I have called Azov Nazis vermin. They are. No regrets.
The notion that I want to kill a gazillion people is wrong. I discuss that in my writings.
Russia vs. Ukraine
“How can a communist endorse Putin, he’s not a communist, he is corrupt.”
I support Russia because the people of Donbass have faced state sponsored violence for the last 8 years at the hands of Azov militia Nazis. Russia should defeat them so the people can be liberated.
“But he just hates the West.”
I do hate the West. For valid reasons. Look into what it did in Libya, causing a failed state where there are public slave markets. Or its destruction of Yugoslavia. Or its many wars in Iraq, Syria, creating Isis, etc.
“Putin is bad”
No shit. He’s a kleptocrat. He has done bad things. I offer critical support, just as Marx offered the same for Turkey against Imperial Russia. It is Marxist to support the likes of Putin. And having a world that limits the power of the West is important. It isn’t a matter of “whoever wins, it’s all the same because the Russians are bad, too.” No, that’s wrong. I have my reasons. Disagree or not, but “he just hates the West” is an argument for the ignorant.
“He’s an apologist for Putin.”
Calling someone an “apologist” is a propaganda technique called “poison the well.” It turns off your brain.
He’s a “tankie” or “I hate Stalin”

“I am disappointed in his position on Russia.”
That’s your right. But spare me your Puritanical condemnations. It is self-righteous and smug. Just shut up and move on. I don’t care about your moral bullshit. I don’t want to be friends with people who don’t see the world with shades of gray.
